Brooklyn Botanical Gardens November 2011​

​​Writing is an important part of the GED preparation program at CAMBA. Students easily reflect on their lives, but sometimes have a harder time organizing those thoughts on paper. Our trip to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden served as a shared experience which we could discuss and write about.

However, the trip was about much more than writing: it was also about exploring a quiet, beautiful corner of Brooklyn that is too often overlooked. While many students knew about the garden, many did not know that access is FREE all winter, as well as at many other times. Students engaged with each other comparing their likes and knowledge of plants from different parts of the world, and just had fun seeing as much of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden as we could in just a few hours!
