About Us

CAMBA has run the Education Center since 1985. The CAMBA Education Center offers morning, afternoon, and evening classes to individuals who are at least 16 years old, who are not enrolled or required to be enrolled in the New York City Public School system, and who live in the Flatbush and East Flatbush communities of Brooklyn, New York. The Education Center serves eligible individuals who need to improve their reading, writing, and math skills, as well as immigrants and speakers of other languages who need to develop or enhance their listening, speaking, reading, writing, and numeracy skills in English. Additionally, the Education Center welcomes individuals who need to acquire or develop the digital skills they need to better perform various personal, family, and employment tasks. Each year, over 1,000 U.S.-born citizens and immigrants from the Caribbean, Latin America, Eastern Europe, Asia, and Africa attend Computer/Digital Literacy, English, GED, and Job Training classes at the Education Center.

Case Managers are available to meet with students, learn about their needs and goals, and help them get the assistance they need by referring them to other CAMBA programs or to various partnering organizations in the city.

Services are offered from 9 am to 12 pm, 1 to 4 pm (Monday to Friday), and from 5:30 to 8:30 pm (Monday to Thursday).
