HSE Success Stories

CAMBA Adult Literacy Center. The name usually tells it all. The institute for those who need help with English, with computers, etc. In reality, it's not just simply that - we are a place dedicated to the progress of one thing - the dreams, the goals of all our students. Life for immigrants is far from a cakewalk, having to adjust to a new lifestyle, and a new language. Our faculty strives to provide our students with the means to move forward in life, to take the necessary steps into the world, into colleges, and into budding careers.

With that said, here are some of CAMBA's very own success stories, some out of many.

Woman Smiling Before going to the CAMBA Young Adult Literacy Program I use to feel alone like an outsider. When I enrolled in CAMBA I immediately felt welcome. The atmosphere the vibe everything about it was amazing. I felt the love and support. They truly have the passion to see you thrive. I am so happy I got a basic education foundation. I plan to start my own business. Everyone needs a foundation. So with that being said I would like to buy buildings and rent them out the people with low income, I also plan to take in the homeless and try to prevent homelessness. I wish I could stay at CAMBA forever but all good things eventually come to an end. Thank you CAMBA you will always have a special place in my heart and life.

Woman Smiling Getting my GED through CAMBA’s Young Adult Literacy Program was a very good first step for me. Ms Alleyne my teacher was a very good teacher. She really helped me with the science. Now I plan to get in to college and be an economist after getting my degree in economics and finance. My goal is to work in a big company in the USA and help my family for the rest of their life.

Black Man Smiling Getting my GED through the CAMBA Adult Education Center was a huge steppingstone for me. Now that I have a basic education foundation, I plan to go to the Culinary Institute of America and study subjects in, culinary arts, and hospitality and hotel management. Once those goals are obtained, I plan to become a head chef at a hotel or a restaurant, and one day, open my own hotel.
